A letter to Welsh Government regarding the Welsh Coronavirus Guidelines

Press release from us all at Autistic UK-Cymru:

To all in the Autistic community,

We at Autistic UK Cymru have heard your plea for clarity on the Welsh Government guidelines during the Coronavirus pandemic. We can see that the community is being further marginalised, particularly when taking into account the English guidance changes, and we all want answers.

Therefore, using the information you, the Autistic community, have provided, we have written to our Assembly Members including Mark Drakeford (both as Leader of the Assembly and as AM for Cardiff West) to try and get these answers for you. Please see attached screenshots of the letter – should you require a version which can be read by a screen reader, please email autisticukcymru@gmail.com and we will send you a PDF copy.

We ask that you consider forwarding this letter to your AM, asking them to respond to you as their constituent.

As soon as we have any response, we will, of course, let you know.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time.

Autistic UK-Cymru

As we were in the process of sending the letter to our Assembly Members, Mark Drakeford announced that they are looking into the possibility of relaxing the exercise regulations for *children* who are autistic and/or have learning disabilities. This isn’t good enough.

We want clarity in all the areas outlined in our letter. We want acknowledgement that adults are Autistic too.

I have already received confirmation that Andrew RT Davies is raising our letter with his party and with the Assembly. Autistic UK-Cymru will keep you updated with any response we receive.
